David Joseph Forkenbrock

David Joseph Forkenbrock, 76, passed away September 12, 2022. He was born July 23, 1946 in Owens, Iowa to the late Bernard and Esther (Bergfeld) Forkenbrock.
David served our country in the US Army and then retired as a civil service Marine Corp deputy chief of staff for manpower after 30 years of service at Camp Pendleton Marine Base. He was a Catholic and enjoyed puzzles, genealogy and ancestry.com, talking with his neighbors, model trains and Dickens Villages. He had a heart for rescuing greyhounds in Myakka and loved his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Suzanne. His step children are Rick Massey and his children Jordan and Kali along with his wife Nikki; Randy Massey and his wife Brooke and their children Elliette and Bijan; brothers, Fritz Forkenbrock and his wife Mary; and Bob Forkenbrock and his wife Lois; sister, Mary Ann Grady and her husband Dave; sister-in-law, Jackie Geyer and her husband Charlie. Dave had many nieces and nephews. He was friends with all his neighbors in his community who considered David the dog whisperer.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Jerry Forkenbrock.
