David E. Forkey, 90, of New Bedford, PA, formerly of New Wilmington, PA passed away peacefully the morning of January 2, 2025 at his son's residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Castle on April 14, 1934 David was the son of the late Adolph and Winifred Jones Forkey.
On October 1, 1956 David married his beloved wife, the former Sara Ann Shearer. Sara preceded him in death on January 12, 2013.
David attended New Castle High School. He retired after thirty years from Youngstown Sheet & Tube as a Craneman in Youngstown, Ohio, David retired after sixteen years from Kilgore Security at Rockwell Axle in New Castle and ten years in grounds keeping and landscaping at BPI at the former Rockwell International location in New Castle. He then worked for twenty-two years in Security & Facility Management at Villa Marie in Pulaski, PA. David had also delivered the New Castle News for forty years.
A lifelong resident of New Wilmington, PA David was a proud, selfless, simple family man. All who knew him enjoyed his infectious smile and kind and mild manner. He could light up a room. Where ever he went, he always managed to make new friends along the way. David enjoyed restoring vintage vehicles, going to car shows and swap meets and never missed a Back to the 50's event. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and cornhole at the family gatherings. David always took pride in maintaining his property and cutting his grass.
David is survived by his children, Ronald E. Forkey (Julie) of Edinburg, PA, Donald D. Forkey (Mary Kay) of New Bedford, PA, Sharon Forkey Williams of Sharpsville, PA and Jackie Forkey Exposito (Tony) of Mt. Jackson, PA, his brother, Chuck Forkey, two sisters, Lois Edwards and Darlene Ritchie, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

The Family wishes to thank Dr. Magda, his office staff and Anova Care Hospice for the excellent care and compassion for their Father.
