Marka Iona Forkey

Iona Marka Forkey, 49, of Campbell, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at her residence in Campbell. She was born on July 26, 1976, in Dallas, Texas; the daughter of Annette Forkey Black.  Marka attended East Texas State University (now East Texas A&M). She married Michael Artrip on July 23, 2012 in Greenville, Texas and they made their home in Campbell. 

Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael, her daughter, Lauren, a sister, Leigh-Ann Fashina, and a brother Bryan Black. Marka was preceded in death by her parents: Step Father Kerwin Black and mother Annette Black, uncles: Samuel Forkey and Mark Forkey and a cousin, Derek Forkey.

Marka was a loving wife and devoted mother.  She lived her happiest moments in the care and love she gave to her daughter, Lauren.  That love will continue beyond her lifetime, an unending bond between mother and daughter.  Her love lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, its depth never fading, its warmth continuing to shape how we love and care for one another.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in the Brigham Cemetery in Campbell, Texas with Pastor Jay Smith officiating.  Visitation will be held at the Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home in Commerce from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
