Funeral service for David Fowler, age 88, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Garrett and Joe Don Pogue officiating. A private interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park with Mike Moore, Kirby Hudson, Todd Williams, Jr., Coby Reed, Logan Pogue, Carston Moore, Joe Don Pogue and Gene Marts serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Pogue, Archie Lindley, Kaden Moore, Ryan Rackley, Straton Darling, Brandon Fowler, Ty Fowler, James Edwards, Ed Cox, Carroll Anders, Quon Clayton, Harold Petrea, Evin Darling, Mike Odell, Bob Cody, all the other Sulphur Springs Livestock employees, and the Hopkins County Trustees. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. David passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
David Max Fowler was born April 9, 1936 in Bailey, TX to David Taylor Fowler and Mozell (Lumpkins) Fowler. After graduating high school, he served in the US Army for a brief time. He was an auctioneer and owned Sulphur Springs Livestock. David was a member of the Livestock Marketing Association, NETBIO, and attended Grace Family Church.
David is survived by his son, Nick Fowler and wife, Rachel, of Glenwood, AR; daughters, Tammy Hudson and husband, Kirby, of Hugo, OK and Kim Moore and husband, Mike, of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Fowler, Ty Fowler (Brittany), Bailey Conley (Colt), Logan Pogue (Michelle), Kelsy Williams (Todd), Chesley Reed (Coby), Kasey Rackley (Ryan), Kaden Moore, Carston Moore; lots of special great-grandkids; and sister, Terri Jo Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mozell Fowler; and granddaughter, Haley Pogue.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Keitha, Carla, Sabrina, Jenny, Rebecca, Jaylee, Cece, and Shaundra for taking such great care of David during his illness.
