David Morris Frederick

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Flint Baptist Church, 11131 FM 2868 W, Flint, Texas 75762, with Pastor Sam Deville officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery, 700 FM 2555, Corsicana, Texas 75110, under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

David Morris Frederick, 80, of Chandler, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Tyler.

David was born on March 4, 1945, in Blooming Grove, Texas, to Rufus Loyd Frederick and Eulalia Pauline (Cagle) Frederick. He graduated from Blooming Grove High School in 1963. David owned and operated a small engine and lawn mower repair shop before beginning a 17-year career as an equipment buyer for Brookshires Grocery Company, where he later retired. He married Esther Dale Davis in 1976. David was a die-hard fisherman who also enjoyed deer hunting and golfing. He loved camping and cooking outdoors, tinkering in his workshop, and had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Known for his happy spirit and warm heart, David loved his family deeply and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kevin Riggs; and his brother-in-law, Joe Honea.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Esther Frederick; his daughter, Cindy McCarter; his grandchildren, Caitlin Hand and husband Kyle, and Jessica Shepherd; his great-grandchild, Nolan Hand; his sister, Bettye Honea; and his daughter-in-law, Vicki Riggs.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Hand, Michael McCarter, Dee Merritt, Brad Honea, Eddie Yates, and Michael Acrea.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
