David Alan "Dave" Gargett

David Alan Gargett, known affectionately as Dave, passed away on July 17, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 76. Born on May 4, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dave grew up to lead a life marked by dedication, humor, and love.

Dave graduated from Marion High School before pursuing further education at Indiana Wesleyan University. He built a successful career as a Design Engineer for plastics, where he utilized his keen intellect and creativity to excel in his field.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dave was a devoted family man and an avid golfer. His love for the game was only surpassed by his passion for sharing it with others. Dave's commitment to his family was profound. He was a loving husband to his wife, Patricia Murray Gargett, for 33 years. Together, they created a family and a home filled with laughter and cherished memories.

Dave's personality was characterized by his dry and clever sense of humor, his infectious laughter, and his selfless nature, which left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He also had a soft spot for chocolate milkshakes, donuts, and was a devoted pet lover, which all who knew him will fondly remember.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter Lori Prescott; son Patrick Gargett; step-daughters Bunniece Tobin, Gretchen Willaman, and Candy Tracy; step-son David Gregory; 14 grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gargett and Dorothy Detrick, and his grandson, Marcus Yates.

Dave's life was one of vibrant engagement and enduring contributions to his community. His legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who knew him.
