David Edwin Garner, age 60, a life-long resident of Cumming Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin Garner. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Janet Garner, his three children, Zachary, Ashley, and Katelyn, his son-in-law Carter Greeson, and his three precious grandchildren Ada, Ellis, and Sutton. As well as his mother Lois Garner, brother Mark, sister-in-law Audrey, and two nephews Nathan and Sam.
David graduated from the University of Georgia in 1985 and was a life-long Bulldog ever since. As much as he loved Georgia football, it didn't compare to the love he had for God, and his family. He was a proud member of Oak Grove Baptist church and served as a deacon for 21 years. He loved serving God alongside his church family. He lived his life selflessly by helping others whenever they needed him.
For all of those that had the honor of knowing him, knew how much he loved his family. He took immense pride in being a loving husband, father, and "Papa." It filled him with joy to share stories about those he loved to anyone he came across.
As much as he will be missed on earth, his family and loved ones have peace knowing that he is rejoicing in heaven.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, December 23, 2023, in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Richard & Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
