David John Garvey, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family the morning of May 5th, 2025. He was a man whose life was marked by deep love, steady humor, and unwavering devotion to the people and passions that defined him.
Dave's career journey began from a passionate young chef that then transformed into an esteemed Vice President of Food and Beverage at Grand Casino Hinckley. This is a testament to his talent, work ethic, and visionary leadership.
Dave shared more than 40 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Kellie. Together, they built a life rich in laughter, warmth, holiday traditions, and love, raising three children: Cassie (Tim), Shay (Eddie), and Troy (Nicole). Dave took tremendous pride in his family, especially his nine grandsons, who brought him endless joy and who carry forward his spirit of fun and adventure.
An avid outdoorsman, Dave loved casting a line on the water or spending a sunny day on the golf course. He had a special fondness for vintage toys and always found joy in collecting and sharing stories behind them. Throughout the years, his faithful pups were his loyal companions, offering him comfort, laughter, and love.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois Garvey, and his brother, Paul Garvey. He is survived by his cherished wife Kellie; his children and their spouses; his treasured grandchildren; and his siblings, whom he loved dearly: Colleen (Rich), Patti (Mark),Michael (Geri), and Shelly, along with many nieces and nephews that he cherished.
To know Dave was to know kindness, wit, and a heart as generous as it was strong. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 3:00PM - 7:00PM at 26911 Foxboro Ave Wyoming, MN 55092.
