Obituary of David Goldsmith
David A. Goldsmith, age 75, of rural Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Family of David Goldsmith.
Born on May 27, 1950 at Washington County Hospital, Dave was the son of Harold and Audrey (Putman) Goldsmith. He graduated from Tri-County High School in 1968. Dave worked for Wilson-Farmstead Meat Packing in Cedar Rapids until they closed. He then worked at the Loparex factory in Iowa City. Dave retired after working several years at the University of Iowa as a custodian. He was united in marriage to his wife, Tehri on August 19, 1996 in Jamaica.
Dave enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially elk hunting in Colorado. He raised and trained coon dogs on his farm as well. Dave also loved to go on camping trips with Tehri.
Dave's family includes his wife, Tehri; his mother, Audrey Goldsmith of Washington; step-children: Jesse Hill (Victoria Witting), Cole (Breanna) Hill, and Savanah Hill (Shawn Roob); grandchildren; brothers: John (Jody) Goldsmith, Jeff (Diana) Goldsmith, and Tom (Fran) Goldsmith; his mother-in-law, Nancy Simpson; and many nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold.

I was a classmate of David at Tri-County High School. We went together for 2 to 3 years and was engaged during Vietnam era. We didn´t know what the future held so at that time decided not to get married eventually broke up. I´m glad he found you Terri. Thoughts and prayers for you and David´s family.
