David Ross Goodwin, 70, of Hudson, New Hampshire, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, while en route to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Born on December 3, 1954, in Nashua, he was the beloved son of Francis "Bud" Goodwin and Pearl (Williams) Tenney.
David was a devoted husband to Joyce (Kinville) Goodwin, with whom he shared a loving marriage since August 16, 1975, celebrated at Alvirne Chapel in Hudson, NH. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
David attended Alvirne High School and later earned his Associate's Degree in Machinery from Manchester Community College. His career was marked by dedication and hard work, beginning in his youth at the family-owned Goodwin's Fried Clams. He went on to work at Servomation and Thompsons Market before establishing himself in the automotive industry. David worked at Motor Service & Supply from1974-1984 and Pine Motor Parts 1984-1986, then he owned and operated DRG Automotive Machine Shop from 1986 to 2006, and later worked at Southeastern Container until 2018. Most recently, he found joy in his role at Granite Start Early Learning Center, where he touched the lives of many children and families.
A man of many passions, David was actively involved in his community. He cherished his time as a Boy Scout leader with his son, Travis, and enjoyed helping with breakfasts at the Nashua VFW Auxiliary. His love for cooking was evident as he served Thanksgiving dinners at the Hudson Fish and Game. David was also a dedicated member of the pit crew for #63 at the Hudson Speedway, where he shared his enthusiasm for auto machinery. He found peace and adventure riding his Harley motorcycle and cherished deep-sea fishing trips with his friend Jay. Above all, David treasured the moments spent with his wife and grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
David is predeceased by his father, Francis "Bud" Goodwin; his mother, Pearl (Williams) Tenney; his stepmother, Muriel (Poston) Goodwin; his sister, Brenda (Goodwin) Carver; and his stepfather, Richard Tenney.
