David G. Goodwin, age 77, of Northport, passed away on August 1, 2025, at Northport DCH Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park, with Scott McCown officiating.

David was born July 31, 1948, in Starkville, MS, to the late Tom and Doris Goodwin. He moved to Tuscaloosa in 1965. David graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1968. After High School, he served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning home, David worked as an Oil Dispatcher for many years. He graduated from Shelton State in May of 1980, with a degree in Business. After his retirement in 1990, he and his wife Carol enjoyed travelling all over, attending craft shows, and being able to sell their woodworking and hand painted treasures that they created together. David was a hard worker who loved his family, especially his only granddaughter "Katie." He was loved immensely and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his wife Carol Krupp Goodwin, and his son Wesley Taylor Goodwin. He is survived by daughter Julie Goodwin Coleman (Kyle); granddaughter Kate Coleman Key (Wes); sister Susan Naftel; brothers Tom J. Goodwin, Sr. (Kay) and Henry G. Goodwin (Jerry); as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
