David Lee Goosey, affectionately known as "Dave," passed away on February 3, 2025, at Pershing Hospital in Brookfield, MO, at the age of 74, with his family by his side. Born on January 28, 1951, in Brookfield, MO, Dave was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. A proud graduate of Brookfield High School's Class of 1969, Dave dedicated his career to auto body repair, a profession that perfectly complemented his passion for working on hot rods. His love for cars extended beyond his work, as he spent much of his time at car shows, where he won numerous awards and trophies. He is survived by his children, Shannon Burge (John) of Effingham, KS, Shelly Bartlett (Tyson) of Brookfield, MO, and daughter-in-law, Kim Goosey of Marceline, MO. He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren: T.C., Nikki, Rebecca, Timmy, Trent, Kelly, Sarah, Talen, Shelby, Ashton, Alex, and Alyssa; and a great-grandfather to Malina, Laynee, Harper, Hayden, Haisley, Cameron, Bridger, and one on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Everett Goosey (Sheila) of Brookfield, MO, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Goosey; his son, Davy Goosey; his granddaughter, Emily Lynn Gandy; his sister, Virginia; and his parents, Mary West and Albert Goosey. Dave married the love of his life, Terri Eden, on June 27, 1987, in Laclede, MO, and together they built a life full of love and cherished memories. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11 am at the Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, MO. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Maceline, MO. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family for final expenses and can be made to the Delaney Funeral Home. Dave will be remembered for his kind heart, love for his family, and passion for classic cars. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and love that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
