David Randolph Greer, SR, 78, passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 1, 2025. David was born in San Diego, CA on March 21, 1946 and was the son of the late Morris and Juanita Greer. His family moved to Norfolk when he was a young child. Growing up in the Tidewater area, he became an entrepreneur of several auto and motorcycle dealerships. His former dealerships include, Central Ford in Ahoskie, NC, Courtesy Ford in Moyock, Virginia Beach Volvo, and Cycle World on Virginia Beach Blvd. He loved spending time with his family at their home in Jenson Beach Florida. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Scott Greer, a sister, Barbara Jolyn Warren, and two of his beloved Yorkies Champ and Buster.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Greer, a son, David Greer, JR and his wife Colette, a daughter, Dawn Greer, three sisters, Gail Facinda, Judy Bacle, and Frances Mustin, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, and his Yorkie pup, Tucker.
The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday March 5, 2025 in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd Chapel with a Celebration of his life starting at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to the family at hdoliver.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
