David Halfhill, 67, of Earlville, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Unity Point (Finley) Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. As per David’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Family Service will take place, and burial at a later date, Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood, Iowa. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville is in charge of arrangements.
David was born on September 5, 1957, in Dubuque Iowa, the son of Fred and Amy (Beaman) Halfhill. He graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1975. He then attended Trade School for Carpentry and worked as a Carpenter and in Utility Department for Truck Country. David enjoyed the outdoors, spending time fishing, working in his garden and was a Master Gardener, he found great joy in decorating for Christmas, and was known for his amazing light and decoration displays. David was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his significant other, Judy Staner; siblings, Robert (Tamy) Halfhill, Lyndall Weir, Wanda Gulick; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Amy Halfhill; siblings, Gladys Primley, Betty Herman, Lois Halfhill, Myrtle Kasner, and Geralda Wiig.
Memorials in David’s memory may be directed to the family.
