Jason Lyle Parkin

Jason Lyle Parkin, age 49, passed away on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, NC, after an ongoing battle with heart disease.

Jason was born on September 26th, 1975, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Gary and Jayne Ann (Wendt) Parkin. He lived many years in Iowa prior to moving to North Carolina in 1986. He is survived by his mother, Jayne Parkin; his sister Kendra Quinn and her husband Paul; his brother, Mark Parkin and his wife Jennifer and his nieces and nephews Chloe Quinn, Olivia Quinn, Alexandra Parkin, Victoria Bryant, Hunter Parkin, Ridge Parkin; and beloved friends of the family, Del Rose Hentges and Tom McGraw. He is also survived by his “on-the-road-family” Hootie and the Blowfish and Darius Rucker. His father Gary Parkin predeceased him in June of 2000. The loss of his father weighed heavily on Jason throughout the years.

Jason’s life was full of rich experiences and adventures, as he traveled the world doing what he loved most. He dedicated his life to his role as the Production Manager for Hootie & the Blowfish and Darius Rucker, working with them for nearly 27 years.

Jason was known for his kindness and generosity. He always had a smile on his face and was loved by all who knew him. His love for life and for others is a testament to the person he was and the many lives he touched.

Private family inurnment has taken place at Fairview Cemetery in Earlville. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville, assisted the family.
