David Harrington Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home - Fitchburg on Nov. 9, 2024.
Fitchburg – David N. Harrington, 77, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully, in the presence of loved ones, on November 6, 2024 in UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
David was born in Leominster on July 22, 1947, a son of the late Nelson and Anna (Mahan) Harrington. He was a graduate of Leominster High School and later attended art school in Boston where he studied book and magazine illustration. In 1967 David enlisted in the US Air Force, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged in 1971 as a Sergeant.
David was a creative person, he loved analog photography, growing beautiful plants and making delicious vegetable soup that he often shared with neighbors and friends. David saw everyday as an opportunity to create something beautiful.
He enjoyed listening to music and could often be found singing along with an Elton John song or dancing to Motown classics in his living room.
David cherished the simple things in life; taking walks in nature, visits with his family and found endless joy in socializing with his peers.
Everyone who had the opportunity to meet David felt seen and appreciated for who they are. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his two children, Alicia Harrington and Melissa Sue Harrington and her son Matthew; his siblings, Jean Gagne and Ted Harrington; several nieces and nephews, including Bowin L'Ecuyer.
David was predeceased by his brother John Harrington in 2012.
Calling hours will be held in the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg on Wednesday, November 13, from 10:30 am – 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallan St. Winchendon, MA.
