Cremation Society of New Hampshire - BoscawenDavid “Smurf” Harrison lived a life full of laughter, friendship, and stories worth retelling. He passed away on September 10, 2025, listening to his favorite band, AC/DC—one last soundtrack to a life lived loudly and well. He leaves behind his two brothers, a wide circle of close friends, and countless people who were lucky enough to know him—and to be loved by him like family.
Smurf had a gift for making people he cared about feel truly loved. He was the first to show up for his friends—who were more like family—when their daughter was born. He made sure to bring his loved one’s chocolates every Valentine’s Day and never missed a birthday, always arriving with a thoughtful gift in hand. Smurf delighted in finding the perfect thing to bring joy to those he cared about, whether it was something they’d been wanting or a silly joke gift, like a squeaky dog toy for a toddler just to make a little extra noise for their parents. He checked in on his loved ones regularly and followed through with making sure everything was okay for those in his circle. His thoughtfulness, humor, and big heart left no doubt how much he cared. His friendships weren’t casual—they were lifelong, and many of those friends became family.
Golf was Smurf’s happy place. He loved the game, the company, and the laughs along the way. But he was just as serious about looking good on the course as he was about playing. As he liked to say, “If you look good and play like shit, people just think you’re having an off day. But if you look like shit and play like shit—then people think you’re shit.” That was Smurf—straightforward, hilarious, and always with the perfect line to keep everyone laughing.
When he wasn’t golfing, Smurf could usually be found at his favorite watering hole, Lucky Dog, with a Bacardi and Diet Coke in hand. For him, Lucky Dog wasn’t just a bar—it was his clubhouse, his living room, and the place where stories flowed as easily as the drinks.
Smurf lived by a motto that summed up his bold, no-nonsense sense of humor: ES&D. He wore it like a badge of honor, a reminder to live unapologetically and to never take life too seriously.
Smurf’s legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, and living life the way he wanted. He will be remembered for his rounds of golf, his sharp one-liners, his love for AC/DC cranked up loud, and the way he made everyone he loved feel like family.
His family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on October 4, 2025 at 2:30 P.M at Lucky Dog Tavern—exactly how Smurf would have wanted: with stories, laughter, and maybe a drink or two (no straw).
May his drives be long, his glasses always full, and his laughter and classic song echo in our hearts forever.
