David C. Helt

David C. Helt, age 78 of Eastlake, ended his courageous battle with cancer on April 15, 2025. Born on July 24, 1946, Dave lived a life full of hard work, dedication and laughter.
Dave is survived by his wife of 15 years, Dumaria Helt, and his children, Renee Rancourt (Alan), Lisa Helt, Jim Rogers (Sharon), and Rob Rogers (Stephanie), Davina March (Todd), Kwitka DeLeva (Derek), Elizabeth Veres (Ben), Mary Helt, Dewi Harmina, Yessy (Anthonius), and Lyos. He will also be missed by his sister, Suzanne Kirchner (Norm) and his 15 grandchildren.
Dave was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. After the war, Dave took pride in his lifelong profession as a meat cutter. Dave enjoyed cooking, fishing, and watching sports. He had a special place in his heart for his animals, particularly his golden retrievers. His dogs adored him as much as he adored them. Dave was well known for his sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh and enjoyed telling jokes to both friends and strangers. Dave was a hard worker his entire life, and approached every endeavor with passion and determination, a trait that he undoubtedly passed along to his children. Dave leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will resonate in the hearts of those that loved and knew him best.
Preceded in death by his father, William Helt; his mother, Mary Ann Baran; and his stepfather, Walter Baran.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 4-8pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, located at 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10am, also at the funeral home. Dave will be laid to rest at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery immediately following.
