David J. Helton, age 17, of Granbury Texas tragically passed away on September 10th 2024.
A time of gathering will be held from 2 until 3 P.M., on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Highway 377 East, in Granbury. A memorial service celebrating his life will follow at 3 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
He entered the world in Arlington, Texas to Kimberly Ann Brown and David Jay Helton. David bravely battled through his private struggles, always with the support of his loving family. Though times weren't always easy, he knew that he was loved and cared for by those closest to him and showed a great amount of strength through it all. If you or a loved one is struggling with mental health reach out to 988. The first step towards moving forward is seeking help. David would not have wanted to see someone else having the same difficulties he was going through.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry M. Brown and Shirley V. Doyle.
David is survived by his parents, David J. Helton, Kimberly A. Brown Helton; his long-time girlfriend, Nevaeh Lightfoot; his aunts, Pamela J. Schuler, Cathrina (Tina) Brown Mantz; first cousins, Heather Newcomb Menida, Jennifer Newcomb, Christina Regante, Elizabeth Parks Gunsell, Rebecca Adams, their spouses and by 10 second cousins. Our family would like to honor Nevaeh's family, who took him in, and loved him as their own; her mother; Sonya Vaughn; and by her sister, whom David loved as his own, Dakota Lightfoot.
David was a very sweet soul. To know him, was to love him. He will be loved and missed by the countless friends and family he has made throughout the years.
