David Lavoid Holloway, Sr., 95 of Shreveport, LA, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Christus Highland Medical Center. He was born in Smackover, Arkansas, to Opal Stone and Jessie David Holloway.
Family graveside services with military honors will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in El Dorado, AR. Rev. Edward Almedia of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado will officiate.
Mr. Holloway was a resident of Shreveport for 49 years. He graduated from Smackover High School and the University of Arkansas. A faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shreveport, he was also a 4th Degree Knight with the Broadmoor Council of the Knights of Columbus. He belonged to the Rotary Club, where he was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow, and he enjoyed his membership at East Ridge Country Club.
He proudly served his country in the United States military during the Korean War and dedicated his professional life to the chemical sales industry. Mr. Holloway was an avid Razorback fan and a life member of the University of Arkansas Alumni Association. He will be forever loved and missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harold H. Holloway.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, his wife of 69 years, Juanice Camell Holloway; four sons, David L. Holloway, Jr. (Kelly), Steven M. Holloway (Debbie), Jeffrey M. Holloway (Debbie), all of Shreveport, and John C. Holloway, M.D. of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren, Alison Moore (Cody), Stephanie Pittman (Matt), Katie Carmichael (Jared), David L. Holloway III (Britney), Megan Raymond (Alex), Jeffrey M. Holloway, Jr. (Sydney), and Caroline Boyter (John Paul); and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Angels, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
