Parker Leeth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Osborn Funeral Home - Shreveport on Jul. 31, 2025.
Parker Stewart Leeth, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 34. He was the deeply beloved son of David and Patty Leeth of Shreveport, dear brother of Meagan Leeth and Iris Chandler, and best friend of Frank Gunn. He grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. Parker spent much of his childhood participating in the Boy Scouts of America, going on to complete the Philmont Trek and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Parker graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in 2008, before attending Texas A&M University. He went on to tutor students in several subjects. In recent years Parker, alongside his father, helped care for his mother with Alzheimer's disease. Parker had a passion for the outdoors, chess, debate, science, math, nonfiction books, the Tottenham football club, Mel Brooks movies, and being unbeatable in scrabble. He was often the smartest person in a room. He loved learning and never stopped teaching himself new things. Parker found true peace in a good book and in nature. His time spent outdoors, both hunting with his dad and as a Scout, taught him how to survive in the wilderness. He was the guy you wanted to be with on a mountain in the middle of nowhere. He was the calm and levelheaded one amid tough moments, whether at home or outdoors. Parker had the ability to show up when you needed him. He was deeply loyal to those he loved, and he loved unconditionally. Perhaps this was why he never met a dog that didn't adore him. They could sense his kind heart that never knew a bad intention. Besides his brilliance, skills, and good heart, Parker was also deeply funny. He could land an edgy joke and entertain with goofy antics. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, including his parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Parker is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Elaine Stewart, and paternal grandfather, Richard Leeth; and uncle, James "Jim" Stewart. Parker is survived by his parents, David and Patty Leeth; sisters, Meagan Leeth, and Iris Chandler; grandmother, Gail Leeth; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception with refreshments.
