Kevin Ray Johnson, a cherished father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on August 9, 1978, to Johnny Johnson and the late Darlene Ann Branton. He joined his Lord and Savior in eternity on November 6, 2025.

Kevin was a graduate of Caddo Magnet High School and an alumnus of Louisiana Tech University. He had a true servant's heart-wherever there was a need, he could be found taking doughnuts to his men's group and church, repairing and installing friends' computers, helping someone stranded on the street, serving Thanksgiving meals to the disadvantaged, preparing football fields at Caddo Middle Magnet for his son's team, or helping friends in need.

He loved his family and friends deeply. Kevin also had a genuine love of aviation and was a pilot who enjoyed flying his children, family, and friends to LSU football games and other destinations. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and started numerous businesses over the years, including computer installation and repair, telecommunications, and a car dealership. He was a long-time licensed real estate broker in Louisiana and Texas and had an incredible ability to find great opportunities for clients through his brokerage, SBLA Realty Group.

Kevin was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in Benton and also attended Riverpark Church in Shreveport. He proudly served his country in the Louisiana National Guard with the 527th Engineer Battalion. As a young man, Kevin achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and continued his community involvement throughout his life. He was active in various organizations, including the Red River Bend Rotary Club of Shreveport, the Elks Club & Lodge #122, and several Mardi Gras krewes in the Ark-La-Tex. He served as Duke of Arkansas for the Krewe of Gemini in 2011 and as the first Duke of Serenity for the Krewe of Nemesis in 2017.

Kevin loved working out at Christ Fit Gym in Bossier and the YMCA. He was skilled in Kajukenbo martial arts and enjoyed sparring in the ring whenever he could. Even when his health began to fail, he continued to practice his martial arts and could often be found climbing ladders to install equipment for customers or helping friends with home repairs.

Kevin was a proud dad who loved watching his son, Jackson, play soccer and football and enjoyed providing his teams with water and snacks over the years. He was equally proud of his daughter, Caroline, and cherished watching her perform in dance recitals and sharing their special daddy-daughter dates.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Ann Branton; maternal grandmother, Lorene Branton; grandfather, Ken Jones; nephew, Holden Rose; and niece, Evelyn Netherton.

He is survived by his father, Johnny Johnson; stepmother, Sandra Johnson; son, Jackson Cade Johnson; daughter, Caroline Rae Johnson; brother, David Crook; sisters, Jennifer Ferguson and Melissa (Taylor) Netherton; and grandmother, Sue Jones. Also left to cherish his memory are his former spouse, Meredith Johnson; nieces and nephews, Hunter Rose, Harlynn Rose, Mills Netherton, Scott Mears III, Peter Ferguson, Elijah Ferguson, and Emily Ferguson.

A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at 3 p.m. on November 13, 2025, at Riverpark Church, 3232 E. 70th Street in Shreveport. Visitation with the family will be held from 5–7 p.m. on November 12, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E. 70th Street in Shreveport.

Honorary pallbearers are lifelong friends David Hagar, James Herrin IV, Kevin Higdon, Richard Howard, Robert Mullins, and Jonathan Newton.

Donations may be made to the Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA), the Metabolic and Liver Disease Research Program at LSU Health, or the donor's charity of choice.

Flying high in the clouds always gave you such joy and freedom… soar high forever now, Kevin.

To: The Family of Kevin R. Johnson. Kevin was a positive impact with his service in the 527th Engineer Battalion of the Louisiana National Guard. My wife (Jan) and I, want to wish our sincere sympathies and heartfelt condolences for your loss of Kevin. You should be very proud of his service and accomplishments in the 527th Engr Bn og the Louisiana National Guard, which he honorably served as a great professional, dedicated and Loyal Soldier. A memorial Honor and a deserving tribute to a great Soldier.
It is the "Soldier"
In Memorial Honor to Kevin R. Johnson
527th Engr Bn of the Louisiana National Guard

It´s the Soldier,
not the pastor/preacher, who has given us freedom of religion and worship.
It´s the Soldier,
not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It´s the Soldier,
not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It´s the Soldier,
not the demonstration organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble and demonstrate.
It´s the Soldier,
not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It´s the Soldier,
not the politician, who has given us the right to vote, ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It´s the Soldier, who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

The American Soldier does not Train, serve and fight because he hates who is in front of him; he Trains, serves and fights because he loves who is behind him.

The World, the USA, Louisiana and the Shreveport, Louisiana Community are better places today, because of Kevin´s dedicated and loyal service to our nation, State and community.

ETERNAL REST GRANT HIM O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM.
