David Michael Holmes

David Michael Holmes, age 59 of Lapeer, died on July 4th, 2022. Dave was a beloved family man and a dear friend to many. He was everyone's go to handyman and he would stop anything to lend a hand to his family and friends. Dave was the life of the party and a huge prankster. He was an avid hunter and a car enthusiast; especially when it came to the Pontiac Can Am. Most of all, Dave had a great love for his family, especially his grandkids, who meant the world to him. He will be deeply missed by many.
Dave is survived by his wife Dale Holmes; his children Danielle (Brandon) Holmes, Kailey (Cody) Toles, TJ (Bonnie) Moulder, Candice (Anthony) Rau, Zachary (Bobbie) Poole, Alexandra (Kyle) Whitcomb, Joshua (Emily) Poole; grandchildren Layla, Malia, Ryatt, Kenzington, Giuliana, Stella, Alessandra, Emma, Joey, Novalee, Zachary Jr., Layton, Michael, Olivia, Madison, and Nolan; brothers Scott (Denise) Holmes, Roger (Dawn) Parsons, and Jim Jones; sister Nadine (Rick) Leiner; also many other extended family members and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his first wife Karla Holmes; son Brandon Holmes; mother Darlene Street; father David Holmes; sister Angela Jones; brother Troy Holmes.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14th at 12:00 noon at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Friends may visit with the Holmes family on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Keenan Meredith will officiate. Following the service, Dave will be laid to rest at Stiles Cemetery in Mayfield Twp. Friends and family members that have a classic car that they would like to drive in the funeral procession, it is encouraged and welcomed by Dave's family.
A luncheon will be held at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 6645 Washington St, North Branch, MI 48461. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Dale Holmes are appreciated.
