David C. Howard "Cricket"
David was born September 9,1945, he passed away on July 8, 2025.
David moved to Oregon with his family when he was around 6 years old with his parents Lester and Ola Mae and 6 brothers. They drove in a caravan and camped along the way; the oldest brother was driving the car and Dad driving the truck. Once settled in Oregon the truck was turned into a log truck.
He first attended school in Perrydale, then at schools in Dallas.
David joined the Navy in 1964; upon discharge he returned home.
David married Beverly Walker, they had 3 sons and later divorced.
David later married Donna Weston. They remained married until her death.
Eventually David met and married the girl of his dreams, Jessie Bancroft. They would travel together for hunting, fishing, and family reunions in New Mexico and Texas. They celebrated 52 years of marriage this year.
They eventually had 2 children completing their family of 7.
David's working career began driving log truck at 16 for his dad. His first job driving outside of family was for Harvey Marr. He went on to drive a truck for Siletz Trucking, Howard Brothers, Boise Cascade, and Mitchell Brothers. He retired in 2002 from Marr Bros. David also ran log loaders and other equipment.
David is survived by his wife Jessie, his sons David Jr., Timothy, Daniel, Donald (Melissa), and daughter Lisa (Brian)Wood. His 13 grandchildren are Raelynn, Robbie, Felicia, Joseph, Austin, Ryder, Keely, Kyann, Patrick, Charlie, Madilyn, Alexandria, & Kenzie. His great-grandchildren are Aaliyah and Maverick. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Candy) Howard, and sister Barbara Morrow. David is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Albert, Glenn, Allen, Johnny, Jerry, and sister Patricia.
David's funeral service will be July 25, 2025, at Bollman's Tribute Center, 287 SW Washington Street, Dallas Oregon. The viewing will begin at 10:00 A.M., his service at 11:00 A.M., and reception 12:00-1:00 P.M. A graveside service will follow for family at the Dallas Cemetery.
