David Clyde Hunt, Sr. (affectionately known as Pee Wee), age 80, of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 25, 2025, after a prolonged illness. He was born on December 22, 1944, in Tullahoma, Tennessee, the youngest of seven children to the late Ruby Philpott Hunt and Gaston Hunt.David was married to the love of his life, Bertha Bates Hunt, for 50 years, and together they raised their five children in Tullahoma. He was a skilled carpenter for most of his life, a craft he took great pride in. David had many passions, including fishing, sluicing for gold, andmuch to the amusement of those around himpestering his friends. His playful nature and sense of humor earned him the affectionate nickname "Pee Wee" among those who knew him best.David was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Gaston Hunt; his beloved wife, Bertha; and five siblings. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Van de Veer of Tullahoma; his sons, David Hunt, Jr. of Tullahoma, Tennessee, and Michael Hunt of Crothersville, Indiana; his daughters, Deanna Hunt-Barrett and Madaline Hunt-Tibbetts, both of McMinnville, Tennessee, and Daphne Hunt-Brown of Moundville, Alabama. Additionally, David is survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.The family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Tullahoma Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no graveside service, and he will be cremated. The family kindly requests that no flowers be sent.David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
