David Richard Jensen, 74, of Lancaster, California, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at 7:14 p.m. at Antelope Valley Hospital, with his beloved wife Sarita and his brother Steven at his side.
David was born on June 22, 1950, in East Ely, Nevada, to Richard and Georgia Jensen. He was one of five children and grew up with a deep appreciation for learning, nature, and family. A dedicated student, David graduated with honors from White Pine County High School before attending Brigham Young University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. He went on to pursue his medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
Following medical school, David completed his internship and residency at both USC and Barnes Hospital. In 1981, he began his long and distinguished career in family medicine, serving the communities of Palmdale and Lancaster for over three decades with compassion, integrity, and dedication. His patients remember him as a caring and thoughtful physician who always took the time to listen.
David was a man of quiet strength, deep intellect, and unwavering devotion to his family. He is survived by his loving wife Sarita; his two children; two grandchildren; two stepchildren; and his four siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents and other beloved family members.
David's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched-as a doctor, a father, a husband, and a friend. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A private memorial service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to a medical charity or organization of your choice.
"If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again." To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of David, please visit our floral store.

My husband's doctor was Dr. Jensen. We both respected and admired Dr. Jensen. He was a great and caring doctor and took the time to explain everything that was going on. We miss him, may he rest in peace. Ron and Judy Syphers.
