David Jesse Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Swedberg Funeral Home - Shawano on Jan. 15, 2024.
David Wayne Jesse passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 74, in his hometown of Shawano, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. David found his God, joy, and beauty of life through his love of nature. A natural career path led him into the logging industry. He was a lean mean one-man team and dealt with all the elements in the great outdoors. The simplest pleasures in life are what made David tick. David delivered his inappropriate jokes which often elicited shock, surprise, and the very best cackles from his loved ones, including his own infectious laughter.
He was born to Franklin and Bernadine (Blondie) Jesse on September 28, 1949. After graduating from Shawano High School, he was called to military service and spent two years in Korea. Upon his return he worked for the Shawano Park and Recreation Department. He met his wife, Cindy, at the Park Bar and celebrated 50 years together this past June. Cindy and David received the blessing of their lives on March 29, 1981, when Meegan Jesse (Hussain) was born. David's passions included: moose hunting in Canada, fishing, cooking, and his appreciation of the natural beauty of his home on the Red River.
David is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Kleberg; and his in-laws, Patrick and Ruth Crawford.
Left to cherish David's memory are his wife, daughter, and son-in-law Khurram Hussain, his brother, Ronald (Kathryn) Jesse, and many wonderful in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many great friends.
David will be honored in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Shawano Lake Golf Course. Please join us from 11:00 - 3:00pm as we share stories, laugh, and enjoy each other in honoring this man.
