David was born in Eldorado on May 16, 1950 to the late Joe Arthur and Jo Ann (Johnson) Johnson. David was a member of Star General Baptist Church, he worked at Sahara Coal Mine #21, he owned Johnson Towing, Johnson Auto Rebuilders, was a Marine Veteran, a member of the Eldorado V.F.W. post 3479 men's auxillary, life member of both American Legion and the Sons of the Legion. He was on the Eldorado Fire Department and rescue squad for many years.
He married the former Debby Herrmann and they were married for 49 plus years and she survives in Eldorado. Also his dog Holly, she was wonderful therapy for him.
As per his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home with Rick Wilson officiating, military rites will be done at beginning of service. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time of 1:00 PM
