David H. Johnson
Mount Holly- David Hubert Johnson, 70, of Mount Holly died Thursday December 18, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on August 2, 1955, in Rutland, the son of Hubert and Lucille (Bumps) Johnson.
David graduated with the last class from Wallingford High School.
David served the town of Mount Holly as Treasurer for over 30 years until retiring in 2023 to become the assistant treasurer. He also served the town as a justice of peace and lister.
He was a member of the Mount Holly Volunteer Fire Department for 56 years, joining the department when he was 14 years old and served many years as the treasurer & secretary.
David was a longtime member of the Free and Accepted Masons Mount Moriah Lodge #96, The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Colfax Lodge #21 and the Grand Lodge of Vermont, Trustee of Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Maple Grove Cemetery Board, New England Herford Association and Mount Holly Snow Drifters.
He enjoyed following Mill River High School Basketball and Soccer.
Survivors include several cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother in 1995 and his father in 1986.
Burial will be at 2:30 pm on Thursday May 21, 2026, in the Maple Grove Cemetery, East Wallingford, VT. A celebration of his life will follow.
Friends may call on Friday January 2, 2026, from 4-6pm at the Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main Street, Rutland, VT. A masonic service will be held at 6pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Holly Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 114, Mount Holly, VT 05758
