David A. "Jolly" Jolissaint was called to Heaven, St. Peter needed a fourth on this date, November 12, 2025. He was born on Easter Sunday April 8, 1944 in New Albany, Indiana. Jolly was a beloved figure in his community and a devoted family man, leaving behind a legacy marked by both professional accomplishments and personal passions.
He dedicated 14 years of his career to Sears Roebuck, and later made significant contributions as an assistant sales manager and fleet manager at Cooke Pontiac (Cross Motors). His work continued as a territory manager for Deka Batteries for an impressive 26 years, culminating in his retirement in 2013. Jolly's professional life was marked by his commitment to excellence and the relationships he built along the way.
A proud alumnus of New Albany High School, Jolly graduated in 1962 and maintained a deep connection to his roots and community. He was actively involved in local sports, serving as the president of New Albany Township Little League and Babe Ruth League for three years, an honor that reflected his passion for youth engagement and sportsmanship.
Beyond his career, Jolly found joy in various interests and hobbies. He was an avid golfer and a passionate supporter of Indiana University basketball and football. His love for games extended to playing Euchre regularly, bringing friends and family together for spirited competition 3-4 times a week.
Jolly is survived by his companion and lifelong partner, Kelly S. Tindall; his son, Andrew (Kendra) Jolissaint; his daughter, Julie Thieman; and his grandchildren, Audrey, Savannah (Wyatt), and Tristin. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew P. and Jenny Louise Jolissaint.
