David Garland (Butch) Kaylor, Jr. was born in Abingdon Virginia, on October 27, 1954 and entered Heaven on January 14, 2026.
He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1974, and through the years worked as a bus driver, cross-country truck driver, textile worker, mortuary assistant and security guard.
Butch loved to watch old westerns and rodeos on TV. His heart was full when he got to attend a rodeo in Texas a few years ago. He always wanted to go back. Butch's cowboy hats, boots, western shirts and love for horses proved he was a cowboy at heart. His cap collection attests to his love for the Tennessee Vols. He could play a mean hand of SkipBo. Butch enjoyed Southern Gospel music and sang tenor in quartets that traveled around the south for many years.
He is survived by a brother, Bill Kaylor (Kathy) of Bristol, T.N.; sisters, Pam Weaver (Mike) and Theresa Bixby (Paul) of Greenville, S.C.; a stepson, Jeff Mousa (Leslie) of Dallas T.X.; two stepdaughters, Janelle Kidd (Michael) of T.N., and Tammy Ennis (Matt) of Inman, S.C.; eight step grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
Butch is predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce Graham Kaylor; and his parents, David and Jean Kaylor. All of them welcomed him through Heaven's gates and had a great reunion on January 14th, 2026.
A graveside service will be held at the Mausoleum Chapel in Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
