Mr. David Carmac Kee, age 77, of Shelbyville passed away August 17, 2025 in Nashville, TN. A graveside service will be at 2 PM Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Rosebank Cemetery in Flat Creek. Minister Jim Moran will be officiating. David was born on July 13, 1948, in Memphis, TN to the late Robert and Eleanor Thomas Kee. He graduated from Memphis Southside High School where he excelled in track and football. He graduated from Memphis State University. David dedicated his career as a graphic designer for the Tennessee Education Association in Nashville. David was a member and former deacon of the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church. He was an air traffic controller while serving in the U.S. Marines. David enjoyed trail riding, raising colts, camping, golfing, fishing, wood working and traveling. His friends often came to him for advice on just about any project. He was always thorough and wanted things done correctly. His kind heart and caring gentleness was evident to all who knew him. He especially loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed watching them grow up and excel in life. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Debbie; brother, Alan (Sandy) Kee; nephew, Deven Kee; children, Chris Kee, Melanie (Steven) Morgan, and Melissa (Chris) Matthews; grandchildren, Katelin McPherson (Donovan Manogue), Heidi (Jacob) Calloway, Brayden Kee, Rocky Matthews, Sarah Morgan, Christopher Matthews, and Sophie Kee, great-granddaughter, Everlynn Matthews, and special friend Dion Gordon. Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Anita Johnson; Christy (Craig Combs) O'Neal, Stacy Johnson, Wesley (MaeKynzie) O'Neal, Riley (Will) Harbin, Blake (Baylee) and their child Brooks Johnson, Paul (Karli) and their child Annie Kate Spencer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Kee. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Vanderbilt University Medical Center for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shelbyville First Presbyterian Backpack Fund or St. Judes Children Research Hospital. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
