David Michael Kitch, 78, of Slickville, passed away, Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was born November 13, 1946, in Slickville, PA, a son of the late Michael and Mildred (Helfer) Kitch. Dave Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1968 and later received his master's degree in industrial engineering. Dave began his career at the Elliott Company in Jeannette, then continued his career for Westinghouse Nuclear Energy Center for 35 years and earned a U.S Patent. He traveled extensively throughout the U.S and Europe for his job. After retirement he continued as a private contractor. Dave was a member of St. Sylvesters Catholic Church in Slickville, ASME, Pitt Visiting Committee, NCRS 300 Point Chief Judge, and CCWP Corvette Club of Western Pa, and SURE (Service Uniting Retired Employees). Dave was an avid golfer and enjoyed model railroading. He was a lifelong, die-hard Pitt Sport fan, Corvette fan, and especially cherished his Red, White, and Blue Corvette Collection.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kitch.
Dave will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Bridget A. (Loughry) Kitch, two sons, Michael (Jill) Kitch of Delmont, Greg (Jody) Kitch of Myrtle Beach SC., brother, James (Donna) Kitch, sister-in-law, Jenny Kitch, nieces and nephews, Yana Van Dyke, Cheri (Chris) Matarrese, Bryan( Danielle) Kitch, great nieces and nephew, Kenley, Mila, Camden, and Brynlee.
Dave was a proud grandfather of, Christian, Kaitlin, Ben, Zack, step-grandchildren, Corey, Felder, and Shay Madden, with whom he enjoyed many overnight trips exploring and sharing his knowledge of historical places, resorts, and amusement parks.
Family and friends will be received from 2pm-8pm, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Vaia Funeral Home Inc., 463 Athena Dr. Delmont, (724-468-1177). A mass will be celebrated for Dave 11am Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at St Sylvesters Church, Slickville, Pa. Everyone is to meet at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave's memory may be made to St. Sylvesters Church, 3028 PA-819 Slickville, PA 15684, Slickville Volunteer Fire Department, 128 Main St, Slickville, PA 15684, or a charity of one's choice.
