David Samuel Knight, 55 passed away on Saturday, 12/13/2025 in Humble, Texas.
He was a devoted father, friend, and loved one whose presence meant so much to those close to him.
David was born in the Bronx, New York on October 15, 1970. David attended St. Augustine School in the Bronx NY in his formative years, and graduated from Park West High School, Class of 1988 with honors. David studied at Syracuse University and later Kaplan University.
The NYC Mission Cadet Corps program forged a strong foundation of leadership and mentoring skills in David that defined his path into adulthood.
David had a long career in retail management and later became an ordained minister, counselor, and published author with a drive to keep learning and growing. He was a natural mentor, always believing in sharing his experiences, offering guidance, and uplifting those around him.
David will be remembered for his relentless drive, strong work ethic, faith in GOD, entrepreneur spirit, sense of humor, love of music, heart for others, and his loving commitment to his children.
He is survived by his children, Dorian Samuel Knight (Cleveland, Texas), Ashley Monet Knight (Anderson, SC), his nephew Justin Knight (NY), Aunt June King (NY), and cousins, Janice Kyle (Buffalo, NY), Cheryl Fridie (NY), Venice Fridie-Kendall (NY), Cynthia King (NY), Carolyn King (NY), and Eugene King (VA).
He will be reunited in death with his mother (Mary Knight), father (Samuel Freeman), and sister (Yvette Thacker-Knight).
David will be missed by many loved ones, and friends not mentioned by name.
