David was born on January 31, 1980, in West Point, MS to Cole and Katherine Knighten. He married his loving wife, Crystal on June 9, 2022. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and grill master.
David served 13 years in the United States Air Force, serving in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
He is proceeded in death by his father Cole Knighten, of West Point, MS.
David is survived by his wife, Crystal D. Knighten, of Canton, GA; children, Cole J. Knighten and Brody A. Knighten; step-children, Cayden A. Davis and Joshua M. Richardson; mother, Katherine Knighten of West Point, MS.; brother, John C. Knighten of West Point, MS; sister, Teresa K. Gisleson (Mark) of Waseca, MN; uncles, Paul Knighten (Judy) of Atlanta, GA and George Stricklin of Yazoo City, MS; aunts, Linda Broadwater of Charleston, MS and Margie Lacy (Scott) of Germantown, TN; nephews, Everett Cole Gisleson and Oliver Stricklin Gisleson; father-in-law, Danny R. Bowen Sr. of Berry AL; mother-in-law, Connie Bowen of Tuscaloosa, AL; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Hite (Matt) of Northport, AL and Kensey Bowen of Baltimore, MD; and brother-in-law Danny R. Bowen Jr. (Amy) of Dillwyn, VA.
A memorial service will be held at Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock, GA, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:00 am. The service will be followed by a lunch, and then procession to Georgia National Cemetery at 3:00 pm, where David wanted to be laid to rest.
