David J Koers

David "Dave" Joseph Koers was a caring husband, father, brother, Christ follower, uncle and Friend. He left this life suddenly on December 24, 2024 at the age of 72.
He was born to Charles "Bud" and Patricia Koers on September 11, 1952 in Beech Grove, Indiana. He graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Indiana Business College. He worked for many years at Service Supply in Indianapolis and finished his employment at Exel.
He met the love of his life, Dorothy Starnes Koers, through a personal ad in a Christian singles magazine in 1988. They married in 1992 and were married for 32 years. Together they survived the loss of their only child, Brian, in 2021.
Dave loved connecting with people and brightening their day. He loved to speak to and compliment strangers he passed by and always loved talking to and encouraging employees at his local Walmart. He also loved to help neighbors by doing things to make their lives a little easier, such as putting their trash cans up on trash pick days.
Dave loved following his favorite sports teams - Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, Purdue Boilermakers, Cincinnati Reds and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy, along with his siblings: Cathy Wellner, Mary Koers, Peter Koers, Michael Koers and Phil Koers. He also leaves behind his "little sister" Suzette Johnson. Services will be held in Indianapolis at a later date.
