David Konkey Obituary David J. Konkey, 85 of Westville, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at home. He was born October 14, 1936 in Michigan City to John and Lilah (Bohnstadt) Konkey. On November 22, 1962 he married Rose Marie Kienitz who survives. Also surviving are his children Kathy Eash of South Bend, Susan (Michael) Maskal of Ft. Wayne, David H. Konkey of Valparaiso, and Michael Konkey of Westville; nine grandchildren, one great grandson and his brother Richard Konkey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Robert, Joan, Miriam, Charlotte and Linda. David was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Otis where he was also a member of the choir. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for the former Vitamins, Inc. before retiring. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 26th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Otis. Rev. Nathan Maskal (grandson) and Rev. John Zemelko will concelebrate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM on Wednesday until the time of mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 102268, Newport News, VA 23612. Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
