David Anthony Kozup, 66, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in Port Charlotte, Florida.
David was born in Pennsylvania on a Friday, November 22, 1957, to the late Edward Paul Kozup, Sr & Helen (Charnichko) Kozup. Though born in Pennsylvania, Dave grew up in Plainfield New Jersey, and was a man of deep faith who loved Jesus and would spread the Lord's word to everyone. His love of God was first and foremost in his life. Dave was a master woodworker, craftsman, and carpenter for 45 years who learned his trade by the master carpenter of all, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved his trade and craft with a passion. He was meticulous with his work and took the time to also teach all of his skills to his apprentices. A prime example of a few of his accomplishments was the renovation work done on the Shaker Village in Enfield, New Hampshire, and the Norman Rockwell Museum in New York. Dave was a very devoted husband to his wife Audrey. His love for her was unwavering. It has been said that no matter where David went in life, even if simply to the local store for something, people would instantly recognize David and take time to say hello to him, because he was just that kind, and likable a guy. He will be profoundly missed by everyone, but most deeply by those who loved him and knew him well.
In addition to his parents Ed (1990) & Helen Kozup (1991), David was preceded in death by his brothers Daniel (2021), and Joseph (2022), and a nephew, Howard Harrigan (2014). He is survived by his beloved wife and loving companion since 2001, Audrey L. English; his children, daughter Jacklyn "Jackie" (Jerry) Kozup, and two stepsons Anthony (Ashley) English, and Matthew (Nicole) English; two grandsons, Michael Corrette and Anthony Lucas English, and granddaughter Emersyn Benson; a brother Edward (Janet) Kozup of Hampton, NJ; five sisters, Theresa (Dennis) Greninger of Castleberry, Florida, Christine (Howard) Harrigan of Orlando, Florida, Ann (Ron) Carlson of Belvidere, NJ, Kathleen (Ralph) Cremone of Edison, NJ, Karen (Thomas) Eible, Lopatcong, NJ; brother-in-law Paul Pukatch of Wilkes-Barre, PA; three sister-in-laws Gail Pukatch of Wilkes-Barre, PA, Mary Ellen (Brad) Macdonald of Waverly Hall, GA, Diane (David) Estock of Larksville, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating David's life will be held in his native Pennsylvania were he will be laid to rest in the family cemetery. Please revisit this tribute page soon for specific service details to be announced.
