David Edward La Plant

David Edward La Plant of La Mirada, California, passed Away on February 15, 2025 at the age of 90, in his home just before his move to Oregon to live with his son.
David was Born December 11,1934 in Brockton, Massachusetts. Long time resident of South Lancaster, MA.
David retired from ITT Surprenant Wire & Cable in Clinton, MA also retired from Pep Boys Los Angeles, CA as a Loss Prevention Officer and worked at California State University Northridge San Fernando Solor Observatory located on the LAWP complex in Sylmar, CA in charge of Maintenance. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting, and working on older cars. He loved animals and working around the house on projects or repair.
David served in the US Marine corps Parris Island 1956 and completed his GED night school from Minuteman High school in Lexington, MA. He remarried his second wife Jeanne Khan in 1982 and moved to southern California.
David is survived by his son David Roy La Plant (Linda) of Happy Valley, Oregon, Nephews, Wayne (Jeanne) La Plant of Leominster, MA, Thomas Watson of Shirly, MA Alan Watson of Leominster, MA, Nieces, Linda (Mark) Frank of Greenville, NH Lauire Watson of Lunenburg, MA, and Numerus cousins, grand nieces and nephews. Stepdaughter Christine (Bill) Barrett of Las Vegas, NV, his step Grandchildren James (Bronte) Barrett, Nora Barrett of Las Vegas, NV, Antonia (Zachary) Roots of Yerington, NV and their five children.
He was preceded by His parents Marion Arlene Nichols and Roy Edward La Plant, brother Richard Roy, sister Gloria Marion Watson, first wife Lillian Rachel Anderson of Fitchburg, MA, and second wife Jeanne D Khan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hour on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 1-2 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home, EAST BRIDGEWATER. A brief Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM in the funeral home before processing to the interment service at Pine Hill Cemetery West Bridgewater, MA.
