ENOSBURG – David Allen Lagro Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 07, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 28, 1940, in Bakersfield to the late Kenneth & Ruth (Perry) Lagro.
David, a hardworking and dedicated individual, was respected for his tireless work as a truck driver. David's commitment to his work was unmatched. He was known for his roles at Blue Seal, Desautels Paving, and Wrights Family Farm, where he spent 22 years.
Outside of work, David cherished time with his family. An active member of the community, he could often be found at the American Legion Post #42, or engaging in his favorite hobbies such as fishing, hunting, playing darts, and sharing stories with his fellow firefighters at the Richford Fire Department (or with anyone that would listen).
In his free time, David enjoyed the company of his loyal dog Bear, and could often be found selling Christmas trees, cutting wood, teaching hunters safety courses, and reveling in the sounds of old country music.
David leaves behind his loving wife, Lori-Ann Lagro; his children, Kenneth Lagro and his friend Michelle Wells, David Lagro Jr. and his partner Lori Brenenstuhl, and Leshia Elkins and her partner Stephen Desautels; grandchildren, Josh Elkins and his wife Robin, Joey Elkins, Jacob Elkins and his wife Jessica, Jeremiah Elkins and his wife Miranda, Ben Tatro, Jordan Lagro and his girlfriend Ashley, Kieran Lagro, Lucas Lagro, Cole Lagro, and Caleb Lagro; great grandchildren, Isabella, Emma, Noah, Lily, Maleighna, Haven, and Adrian; brothers-in-law, Robert Thompson and his wife Tonya, and Randy Thompson and his wife Debra; sister-in-law, Staci-Lynn Thompson and her boyfriend Ronald Brown; special nieces and nephews, Kyle, Amber, Alex, Richard and his girlfriend Amy, Kimberly, Lynn and her husband Joseph, Andrew and his wife Thersea, Courtney and her son Bentley, and Sarah and children, Oakley, and Levi. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Andrew Lagro; and his brother-in-law, Rusty Thompson.
Friends & family are invited to David’s life celebration on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, to include visitation from 10-11:00 AM followed with a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickenson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT.
