Canandaigua/West Irondequoit – David Edward Lamberson, age 88, passed away after a brief illness, on Saturday, August 23, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 wonderful years, Nancy (Craig) Lamberson; three sons, Jeff (Nancy) Lamberson, Scott (Julie) Lamberson and Mark (AJ) Lamberson; six grandchildren, Pierce (Corrine) Lamberson, David (Marisa) Lamberson, Andrew (Emily) Lamberson, Lauren Lamberson, Nicole Lamberson and Courtney Lamberson; four great-grandchildren, Pierce and Helen Lamberson, Mae and Marshall Lamberson; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, James Craig Lamberson; and siblings, Robert Lamberson, Mary Hilts and Brian Lamberson.
David was born on Lamberson Street in Dolgeville, NY and was the son of Edward and Emma (Jordan) Lamberson. He was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1955. David served in the US Navy from 1955-1959, reaching the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class, Damage Controlman on the USS Coral Sea. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Buffalo State University in 1963. David later earned a Master of Science degree in education from SUNY Brockport and additional graduate hours in school administration and school counseling.
He taught at East High School, Jefferson High School and Charlotte Middle School, all in the Rochester City School District. David was a member of the Monroe County Industrial Arts Teachers Association, Kappa Delta Pi, former Boy Scout Leader of Troops 204 and 117 and former Commodore of the Bristol Cliffs Yacht Club. He enjoyed his worldwide travels with the Navy, trips to visit family in Italy, Dubai and Ecuador, camping and canoe trips in the Adirondacks, summer family trips around the USA and many summers in Manitoulin Island, Canada. David loved golfing with friends at Bristol Harbour and other local courses.
Family was the greatest blessing in David's life. He loved fishing, especially with his sons in Manitoulin and his grandchildren on Canandaigua Lake and attending his grandchildren's school activities. David and Nancy spent 20 years wintering in Gulf Shores, Alabama, enjoying friends, seafood and golf. He was an avid reader of newspapers.
The family extends special thanks to the 3-East Wing at FF Thompson Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care that David and they received.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, September 20, at 11am, at Trinity Communion Church, 759 Winona Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617. Private interment with military honors will be in NY State Veteran's Cemetery-Finger Lakes, Romulus, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Communion Church, 759 Winona Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617 or the FF Thompson Foundation, for 3 East Medical/Surgical Unit, 350 Parrish St.,
