David Dale Lanager Sr.

David Dale Lanager, Sr., passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2025, at the age of 78 after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 17, 1947, to Emanuel and Isabelle Lanager.
He was raised in Erie, PA and graduated from Academy High School. He was a freshman when he met the love of his life, Marietta Jean Lanager. This December would have been 60 years of marriage. He worked and retired from GE and was a Vietnam Army Veteran. David was a fierce protector of his children and enjoyed watching them play sports over the years and helping with many home projects. He loved to fish, hunt, and go for rides with his wife around the peninsula where they would sit and drink their Tim Hortons coffee at the West Pier. He was a very giving and loving father as well as hard worker. We were blessed to have the time we did with him.
Survivors include two sons, Jason and Gregory Lanager, a daughter, Julie Lanager and two daughters-in-law, Krista Lanager and Jean Viglione, 6 grandchildren, Isaac, Carson, Carter, and Chance Lanager, Jared and Jenna Dash, his brothers John and Daniel Lanager, and sisters Donna Zoltowski and Patricia Hoganson. He was preceded by in death by both parents and his son, David Dale Lanager, Jr. who he will now be reunited with in heaven after a long wait.
The family is arranging a Celebration of Life dinner and will be announced soon via Facebook.
