David Lange Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bridges Funeral Home on Oct. 1, 2025.
David Michael Lange – age 77, of Rutledge, TN, passed away on September 16, 2025.
David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he received several medals and commendations in recognition of his service. Following his military career, he worked as a truck driver until retirement, after which he enjoyed spending time on his boat-one of his favorite pastimes.
Family was always his top priority, and he cherished every moment spent with his daughters and grandchildren. A devoted family man, David especially loved visiting his Michigan family and hosting their visits to Tennessee.
David was known for his warm and welcoming spirit. He treasured the friendship of his neighbors, Craig, Miranda, Jake, and Jenna Watson, and deeply valued the relationships he built with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Daniel and Virginia Lange; his daughter, Kimberly Hurst; his brother, Tommy Lange; and his sisters, Judith Gross and Barbara Cooley.
David is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Parker and Melissa Cooper (Brandon); grandchildren, Reid and Mallory; his brother, Lawrence Lange; his sister, Susanne Coburn; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews who affectionately gave him the nickname "FUD."
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Bridges Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service to follow at 7:00 PM.
Mass will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at 12:30 PM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
