D. Lloyd Denton

D. Lloyd Denton – age 98, a lifetime resident of Mascot, TN, passed away on February 12, 2026. He was the son of the late Paul and Allie Denton of Mascot.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his precious wife of 68 years, Laura; son, Harley P. Denton; and granddaughter, Trista Denton. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Oza Mae Anderson.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Gail Brooks (George) of Dandridge, TN; special grandson, LaMar Denton; daughter-in-law, Jan Freeman Denton; great-grandson, Hunter (Rebecca); and his very own princess, his great-great-granddaughter, Penelope Rose.

Lloyd went to work at a very young age at the Standard Knitting Mills. After retiring from Standard, he worked at TVA, retiring from there after 25 years of employment. He and Laura were foster parents for over 25 years, opening their home and their hearts to numerous babies and young children.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Bridges Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Darin Jensen and Jacob Burkett. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, February 18 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 AM Graveside Service.
