It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of David Larsen, a compassionate and devoted husband, father and physician, who left us on August 9th at the age of 67. A godly man of unwavering faith, strength, and kindness, David was a true servant, living his life to honor and please God and touching the lives of many through his wisdom, care, and dedication.

David is survived by his wife, 3 children, 2 younger brothers, his sister-in-law and his mother. After finishing business school he felt called to pursue a career in medicine and chose the field of neurology, where he eventually specialized in headache/migraine medicine compelled by the lack of good care available to his family members. He was known for solving difficult, multi-disciplinary medical cases and never gave up finding a way to help his patients.

David's life was keenly devoted to his family, his patients, and his faith. He was a man of intellect and compassion, using his gifts to help those in need. His unwavering support, steadfast love, humor, and tireless efforts made him a rock to his family and a beacon of hope to many.

He cherished his wife, Diane, the love of his life, to whom he was married for 42 beautiful years. Together, they shared a love rooted in faith and commitment to their 3 children; Raquel, Savannah, and Darryl. He loved them fiercely and sacrificially.

David spurred others to be the best version of themselves, using wit, humor, kindness and wisdom. While the deep hole he leaves behind can never be filled, we find comfort knowing he is now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully residing in His presence, getting all the rest he needs!

David was a beautiful reflection of our heavenly father's love, while deeply loving his wife as Christ loved the church. When he meets Jesus, we are confident he will hear "Well done, good and faithful servant"! His legacy of faith, love, and service will be remembered forever.

A service to reflect Dave's life will be held on Sunday August 24th from 4pm to 6pm. at Park Community Church located at 1001 N. Crosby St. 60610, Chicago, IL Visitation will begin at 3pm, service starts at 4pm.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Larsen. I was out of country and just recently saw the letter that was sent out. My sincere condolences to his family and his office staff who worked with him. I was his patient for many years and he was the one dr who really tried many different therapies to get me relief from my migraines. He just never gave up! He was such a caring, compassionate, wise individual who really listened to you and then came up with a solution to try. The world has lost a great Dr...but more than that...the world has lost a great human! I hope his friends and family can take some comfort in knowing that he did indeed change the lives of many people, for the better. RIP Dr. Larsen!

To Dr.Larsens Family, he was my doctor for over 5 years. I suffered miserably for over 35 years and Dr. Larsen was the very first doctor to help me. He never gave up on me. I moved to Florida and missed him terribly. He was so caring, professional and always spoke so highly of his children. I am so saddened by this horrible loss. I pray for strength for your family. He will be so missed. He was the smartest doctor I had ever met.

We were saddened to hear of Dr. Larsen's passing. We were fortunate to have been a patient of his for the last 4 years, as he helped to get my daughter, Meghan's headaches under control. I only wish I had found him earlier in our journey. He was so compassionate and gave so much attention to her; we are forever grateful for him giving Meghan her spark back. I referred many people to him and appreciate all of the time he spent with her at every appointment. He had a great sense of humor and always put her at ease. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. I hope that you find comfort in knowing how much all of his patients appreciated him. I know we will never find another doctor as special as Dr. Larsen. Molly & Meghan McNally

Dr Larsen helped me through a very difficult period in my life. As a patient of Dr Larsen and as someone suffering from chronic migraines, I am incredibly thankful for him as he was able to help me go from a shell of myself back to living a normal quality of life. He did everything he could to help me and was kind, patient, encouraging, and supportive along the way. I appreciate everything and send my thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.

We are so deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Larsen. He saw my daughter for nearly 10 years for her migraines and helped her tremendously. I remember him mentioning his family frequently and seeing his digital picture frame of them in his office. Dr. Larsen always listened and took the time to explain his thoughts to make sure we understood.

Recently, Dr. Larsen referred my daughter to a different specialist he had worked with. We regret not being able to tell Dr. Larsen that he was right. His suspicions were confirmed. We weren´t able to say thank you.

My family and I will be forever grateful for Dr. Larsen. He was an extraordinary man. To his family, please accept our sincerest condolences.

My name is Kim, and I was so blessed to be Dr. Larsen´s patient for nine years. He quite literally saw me grow up! It breaks my heart to know that the one person who helped take away so much of my pain is now gone. I´ve lived with migraines my whole life, and he was the very first neurologist I ever went to-he completely changed my life for the better. I´ll always treasure the way he called my brother and me the "dynamic duo" and the warmth in his smile that could make even the hardest days feel lighter. I can´t fathom how much he went out of his way for me, that I believe no other would do! My heart goes out to his family, friends, and every patient who was lucky enough to know him. I will forever be thankful for him, and I´ll keep his memory and his kindness close to my heart always

Dear family of Dr. Larsen, please accept sincere condolences from me and my family. He was my neurologist for over 10 years, and I thanked God for him with every encounter and recommended him to others often. He helped me and my daughter so much with our headaches and with my chronic pain/ unusual health history. He has mentioned you all from time to time with obvious love. I am sure I speak for all of his patients when I say his passing leaves a tremendous void in each of our lives and the entire vast area of his practice /expertise. May God pour blessings on your family and give you the peace that passes understanding. Sincerely, Natalie Morton
