Born March 1, 1941 – Died August 3, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Y. Liang, who died peacefully after a long illness on August 3, at the age of 84 in Needham, MA.
David was born in Xiushui, Changhua, Taiwan, on March 1, 1941, to Liang Tu-Fen and Chen Chun-Chen. He completed his medical education at Taipei Medical College in Taiwan and completed his training in Pittsburgh, PA, where he practiced as a general surgeon for 45 years.
David raised his family in Monroeville, a suburban community outside of Pittsburgh. A man of few words, he is remembered by his friends for his kindness, generosity, dedication to his family, and his love of gardening and fishing.
He is survived by wife Shung-Ching "Georgia", son Michael, daughters Jocelyn and Catherine, and grandsons Alan, Nathan, and Jay. Also survived by 4 Sisters and 1 Brother in Taiwan.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00am, at Pittsburgh East Chinese Church, 398 Hochberg Road, Monroeville, PA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in David's memory to Pittsburgh East Chinese Church or the charity of your choice.
