David Limbrick Obituary
David Delmar Limbrick
December 3, 1934 - August 3, 2025
Limbrick, David Delmar, of Bon Air, departed this life on August 3, 2025. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Claudette Eastridge Limbrick. He is survived by his beloved and dedicated sister, Carole Evans; and his children, Kimberly Limbrick and David Limbrick, Jr.; their spouses, Tom Roback and Catherine Seltzer; and four beloved grandchildren, Tommy, Catie, Owen, and Lily, to whom he was known as "Pop Pop."
David was born and raised in Fredericksburg, where he attended James Monroe High School and is remembered as a standout first baseman. He went on to play baseball at the University of Richmond before joining the U.S. Air Force to serve during the Korean conflict. He graduated from the Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William and Mary, now Virginia Commonwealth University, with a degree in Accounting. After graduation, he served as Instructor and later on the Advisory Council of the VCU School of Accountancy. David received the C.P.A. designation and joined the accounting firm of Derieux, Baker, Thompson and Whitt, later Deloitte. He ended his career at his own practice, McMillan & Limbrick. David was a Deacon at Bon Air Christian Church and served on the Board of Directors for St. Michael's School and several other local organizations. He also served as a Mason and Shriner.
David was an avid tennis player and, along with his wife, Claudette, found lifelong friends within the Richmond tennis community. After "retiring" from tennis, he found great joy in social events, games, and gatherings with friends. David and Claudette spent every moment of spare time with friends and family at their cottage in the Northern Neck, enjoying the water and appreciating each and every sunset. David was an adoring father to his daughter, Kimberly, and son, David Jr., and a devoted Pop Pop to his grandchildren, often driving halfway across the country to attend their various performances and games. He relished every moment of life's journey.
David's family will receive family and friends at Bliley's Central Chapel at 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond, VA at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment at Hollywood Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Travelers Rest Civic Association, c/o Carole Alexander, Treasurer, 636 Travelers Rest Road, Hague, VA, 22469.
