David "Dave" Logie, age 60, passed away with his wife by his side, at the Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff Arizona, on November 27, 2023.
Dave was born October 10, 1963 in Scotland, UK, to James (Jim) Logie and Euphemia (Effie) Anderson Logie. On March 17, 1967, his family moved to Cupertino, CA where his father led a successful career at Hewlett Packard. Growing up in the Silicon Valley during the 70's and 80's, Dave graduated from Cupertino High School in 1981 and has maintained good relationships with a few of his childhood friends. He spoke often of fun days spent hanging out in
Santa Cruz, CA and attending $10 concerts of many of the greats that are now considered classic rockers.
In the mid 80's, Dave moved to Northern Arizona where he began learning his trade in electrical work. In 1990, Dave married Rosamond Lindquist Logie; they were married for 14 years before her passing in 2004. On June 1, 2001, Dave applied for and received his United States of America, Certificate of Naturalization. He was proud to be an American and displayed his USA Flag regularly.
An electrician by trade, he worked for companies such as Wilson Electric, Code Electric, All State Energy, Colorado River Electric and W.L. Gore. He also owned his own company, All City Electric, Inc from 2000-2007. He was proud of his work and enjoyed pointing out structures around town that he had a hand in building or renovating, such as the Flagstaff Medical Center, the Professional and Doctors building, and Sinagua High School, and the Mountain View Dorm and Cline Library on the Northern Arizona University campus.
In October 2006, via Match.com and eHarmony.com, Dave found Paula! They were married in September 2007; they just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary. Dave loved cooking, especially for Paula and their family and friends. He enjoyed camping in the Coconino National Forest and sharing fun times with their Big Ring Camp Club friends!
Dave had struggled with Macular Degeneration for many years, and had to give up driving himself around in 2020. It was very hard on him to lose that independence, but he did so with grace as he adjusted to being chauffeured by Paula. In February 2022, Dave and Paula acquired an intelligent and goofy chocolate Labradoodle, LolaRaye CocoPuff Logie. This little fur ball brought a new and exciting dimension to their lives. Dave spent the last 21 months working with Lola, training her to be a good canine citizen.
Dave is survived by his wife, Paula Logie, of 16 years, two stepsons, Daniel and Paul Travis, grandchildren Cameron, Gabrielle, Isabella, Rebekah, and Garry, his older brother Graeme Logie (Karel) of
San Jose, CA, nephews Duncan and Cameron, step mother Marion Logie, step siblings Gordon (Katherine), Moira (Doug), and David, nieces and nephews, Erica, Thomas, Billy, and Kelsie and numerous cousins and extended family members.
Dave's wife, family and friends will celebrate his life in multiple small gatherings over the next year. In lieu of flowers/gifts, please consider donating to the GoFundMe account set up to help Paula with the unexpected financial burdens and unplanned expenses coming her way. https://www.gofundme.com/f/dave-logie
