David Longenbaugh Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 11, 2025.
David Longenbaugh was born July 4, 1968. He passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the age of 57.
David was a musician's musician. He was super talented with the ability to play 14 different instruments flawlessly. He studied at The Juilliard School of music in New York City and has a degree in music from University of Texas of Dallas, Texas. David has toured with some of the best musicians in the world. From Quincy Jones to Frank Sinatra. Winning a Grammy along the way.
He was known by those who knew him personally by "Face."
David was on tour with Buddy Rich when he got the nickname. There was an argument that broke out over an arrangement for his part that took place between the two. They were in each other's faces hollering over who is right or wrong, while band members watched. Afterwards the band members dubbed him with the "Face" because no one ever argued with Buddy. When the two were arguing, they were so close to each others face that they thought they were going to kiss. David always stood his ground.
After touring he settled in Dallas, Texas. He continued his musical journey by playing around town in collaboration with other bands and DJ's. He has written and produced several albums and dance singles throughout his career.
He will be missed by many.
