Funeral services for Watie Thomas Wells, Jr. will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Salt Creek Indian Baptist Church, Wetumka, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Salt Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Watie Thomas Wells, Jr. was born August 11, 1949, in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Watie Thomas Wells, Sr. and Martha Lee (Marshall) Wells. He passed away October 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 76.
Mr. Wells was a resident of Seminole County for several years. He worked as a masonry and was a licensed welder. He loved anything about Indian artifacts. While in high school at Wetumka, Oklahoma, he loved running hurdles. After high school he enlisted in the Untied States Navy, while in the Navy he became a boxer, and was known to love the sport. Also while in the Navy, he received several honors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George Lee Wells, Joe Wells, and Billy Wells. He was also preceded by his sister, Lydia Ruth Fish.
Survivors include brothers, Lyle Ray Wells of Okemah, Oklahoma, Ronnie G. Wells, Sr. of Woodward, Oklahoma, and Jerry Wells of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Wells of Okemah, Oklahoma.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Toby Mundy, Aaron Wells, Michael Fish, Trevor Fish, Ronnie Wells, Jr., and Jimsey Fish, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimsey Fish, Sr., Mitchell Fish, and Terry Wayne Fish.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, and officiated by Brother Daryl Coachman.
